The goal of St. Patrick's Music Ministry is to give praise to God through the preparation and presentation of music to the best quality possible, to enliven the soul and invigorate our faith while bringing us deeper into prayer.
God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song. God dwells within each human person, in the place where music takes its source. Indeed, God, the giver of song, is present whenever his people sing his praises.
~Sing to the Lord, Music in Divine Worship, USCCB
Every member of our parish is invited to participate in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist through the sung and spoken word. In this sense, each one of us is called to participate in music ministry. Just as it takes many small pieces of diverse glass to make up a beautiful stained glass window, so too does it take the voices of the entire assembly, priest and people, to make a beautiful offering of sung praise to our loving God.
There are people in our parish who have been blessed with particularly fine and perhaps even trained voices. Fr. Thadeus, our Pastor, and John Failla, our Director of Music Ministry at St. Patrick's invite you to consider devoting a little extra time each week by joining in the formal music ministry programs at St. Patrick's. All we will seek a degree of vocal/musical talent, a willingness to further develop this talent and the gift of your time.
Members of St. Patrick's Parish who are talented at playing a musical instrument are welcome to share their gifts with our worshiping community. Opportunities for solos and ensembles abound with the many liturgies celebrated throughout the year.
If you are interested in learning more about the newly-formed Music Ministry at St. Patrick's or perhaps joining in any of the groups above, please reach out to John Failla, Director of Music Ministry.
