MINUTES OF MEETING ON  NOVEMBER 13th,  2003 A.D.

The first item on the agenda was Vespers, the Evening Prayer of the Church.

There was an update on the about to be completed Parish Center. Leeann Carlino, a neighbor of St. Patrick’s, inquired about landscaping the side of the Parish Center to conceal its lights and water tank. In reply, Tom Lindgren invited Leeann to discuss her wishes regarding landscaping at a meeting on Saturday with the Building Committee.  The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Parish Center will be on November 22nd before the first basketball game.  A parish-wide party will be held at the Parish Center on November 28th.

Father Quinn reported that altar furnishings from St. Agnes Hospital will be installed in the Parish Center.  A portable altar will be stored to the left of the stage to be used for Masses in the gym.

Father Quinn will present an Archdiocesan video on parish consolidations to the parish during Advent.   Brainstorming questions will be distributed at the presentation along with 5 year summary statistics for St. Patrick’s in areas such as average Sunday and weekday Mass attendance. The Parish Council previewed the questions and the statistics.  By January 23rd Father Quinn will send a report of the parish’s discussions on this topic to the Vicariate.

The Social Concerns Committee thanked the parish for its generosity to the Food Pantry and to the Midnight Run for the New York City homeless.  Christmas present drives will be run for the Children’s Center at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility and the Ruth Taylor Nursing Home.  A baby clothing drive for the Good Council Shelter is planned for the first quarter of 2004.  Thirteen Teen Life members and three adults will attend the C.Y.O. Convention in December.  Tom D’Agostino will make a presentation at the next meeting on proposals to expand our parish’s assistance to those in need outside the state and possibly outside the country.
