COUNCIL OF ST. PATRICK'S IN ARMONK
MINUTES
OF MEETING ON JULY 31st,
2003 A.D.
Father Quinn informed the Parish Council that he hopes that the Parish
Center will be dedicated on Sunday, June 13th, 2004 A.D., in
commemoration of the anniversary of the dedication of the church. Cardinal Egan
has been invited to attend. To link
up the history of St. Patrick’s, a gallery of parish photographs will be
gathered.
John Tartaglia distributed copies of the Religious Education
Committee’s new version of St. Patrick’s CCD policy statement, code of
conduct, and implementation procedures which he reviewed with the Parish
Council. After a discussion, the
Parish Council recommended those documents to Father Quinn subject to his and
Ann O’Sullivan’s revisions. John
expressed his thanks to Bud Wenzel, Nick Cerullo and all Religious Education
Committee members for their dedication to this project.
Vince Greco added his thanks.
John reported that the Religious Education Committee will address the
parish in September on the CCD policy statement, supporting documents, and the
need for volunteers. Father Quinn noted that CCD stands for Continuous Catholic
Development.
Father Quinn reviewed St. Patrick’s calendar through next year. On
August 30th seminarian Robert Morris will be ordained to the
diaconate. The parish’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance is tentatively
scheduled for Saturday, March 13th, 2004 A.D.
The Blessing Cup Meal for First Communicants and their families will be
celebrated on April 24th, 2004 A.D. First Communion will be on May 1,
2004 A.D., with Confirmation scheduled for May 8th.
Reporting for Bob Ballengee of the Social Concerns Committee, Ann
Silvestri thanked the parish for its generosity to the Food Pantry over the last
7 weeks. The clothing and kitchen
utensils drive for the St. Vincent de Paul Society was very successful. The committee plans to support the next Midnight Run from
Holy Innocents in September/October. The
committee needs volunteers.
Present at the July 31st, 2003 A.D. meeting were Ann
Silvestri, Mary Jane Fazio, Vincent Greco, Mary Lou Greco, John A. Tartaglia,
Ann O’ Sullivan, John Erickson, Father John Quinn, and Arcangelo Bollella.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Thursday, September 11th
following the 7:30 P.M. Memorial Mass for the victims of the September 11th,
2001 terrorist attacks.
